Bounty Bowling

The kids love when we get a new case of paper towels. They (just like a ordinary box) are like the greatest things in the world. They love to build them up and knock them down over and over again. It was kind of nice that they keep them occupied for most of the day.

Nicole loves to share her favorite toys with Harley. She even goes as far as taking away my pillow and blanket to give them to the dog.

Should I sell this on ebay??

This was Nicoles cream cheese and jelly sandwich. I almost alway use a glass to cut the crust off of the bread. I asked her to take a bite and she says " No Mommy- eyes!" I had no idea what the heck she was talking about until I looked closer. She never did eat it.

Love is...

kissing your child's finger before washing - knowing he just smashed them in between the toilet seat

What we have been up to

I just wanted to post what we have been up to before I forget all about it. We made coffee filter butterflies. We just dripped food coloring on the coffee filter and pinched it the center together and put it in a clothes pin, that we decorated with little pom poms. I read them Good Night Sweet Butterflies (one of Michael's favorites).
We also made ladybugs. Nicole painted hers. Grandma did the gluing. Michael was to busy playing to do any crafts. All though he did make a cereal necklace. We used lanyard this time. It worked much better than the yarn, we tried last time. The lanyard was much easier for his little fingers. I also read them Ten Little Ladybugs. (We do read this book aLot to them) They can name most of the bugs and animals in the book now. They still don't recognize the grasshopper.

We currently have A Bug's Life in the video player. They aren't really interested in it. I thought they might like to See the different bugs, but they have more important things to do.

Mothers Day

I had a nice Mothers Day. Aunt Kathy had extra tickets for Great Adventure and invited us along. We had a great time. Nicole loved the carousel horses. She didn't want to get off the ride. Michael fell on one of the kids attractions and now has another black eye. I think he is at 7 black eyes now - all on the right side. He is due back to the eye doctor, I think I'll ask if it has anything to do with his left eye not dilating. Maybe it throws off his balance or something. That's daddy and Michael all the way up at the top.

Making Pizza

We made pizza today for lunch. I don't know what made me to do it today it was so hot in our house, but they had fun. I tried posting more pictures, but blogger kept locking up on me. If your interested in see the rest of them, here is the link -http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/pattey_koch/slideshow?.dir=/654dre2&.src=ph
I'm going to try to let them make more of their own lunches. I just have to let go and realize they are going to make a mess anyway, so they might as well have fun doing it.

Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles

I just wanted to post some pictures of the kids playing with their bubble maker. I love this bubble maker. It doesn't hold soap so the kids can't spill it.

Here is how I did it. First we had yogurt :) I washed out the cups and punched a hole in the side for a straw. I put a piece of material on the top and put a rubber band around it and wet the material. I just put a little dab of dish soap on the material. Then you just put the straw in and blow. There is nothing in the cup so they can't drink it. They enjoyed them.

Klaire's Party

The kids had so much fun at their cousin Klaire's party. Michael loved the inflatable obstacle course. We couldn't keep him off of it.

Recycling

I have to admit, I love recycling. I'm dying to take the refashion pledge. The one that says that I will not buy any manufactured items of clothing for at least 2 months. Um, I also have to admit that it has been more than 6 months since I have bought any new clothes for any one of us except Michael. This too is another thing I'll have to wait to do until the basement is finished. My sewing machine has be delegated to the attic until then.
Recycling clothes is not new to me. When I was in high school my nieces lived with us. One of my nieces just last year said that she loved waking up to find a "new" outfit at the foot of the bed for them. She said it was one of her favorite memories.
I love recycling furniture too. My mom used to take me to estate, and garage sales all the time. I would love to go to an estate sale. I haven't been to one in years.
Now I have to admit, I love, love - I mean I LOVE finding things in the garbage. I get such a kick out of a great find. Of course, it that time a year again when everyone is doing spring cleaning. I also have to remember that I am very short on space and have nowhere to work on any projects.
I just started a list - in search of.. These are things I'm hoping to find curbside, recycle or make.

Craft Class

For the kids Birthday Grandma signed them up for a craft class with the county parks system. They just wanted to play in the sand and rice. I don't know why, we do that at home all the time. The teacher read them a really cute book on animals. She sang parts of it, and she really has a lovely voice. I'm so jealous!
