I wish I could go back to bed and start the day over

It's only 6am and the day has started pretty shitty for me so far.  First off I wake up and couldn't remember if I had to work today.  Since I couldn't really call anyone at 4 in the morning, I got ready to go into work.  I got out of the shower without rinsing out my conditioner and had to jump back in. 
I get to work and run over something medal in the parking lot and I could hear the air leaking out of my tire.  I go into the building to find out that it's my day off.
I should have just stayed in bed.

Picture This....

You know the video of the cat stretching and rolling off of the TV.  I'm sure everyone has seen one. 
Well picture this.  A Great Dane sleeping on the couch.  He stretches and rolls backwards off the couch.  Very much like the cat but not as graceful.  Now add a clip of a body wrestler body slamming someone onto the coffee table.  That's my puppy.  He flipped the coffee table on its side this morning and sent everything flying.  I wish I caught it on video.  I laughed so hard I almost peed myself.

Downtown Tree Lighting

 We happened to be the first of the GS to arrive.  The kids got to get up close to see the ornaments they made for the tree.  We had only made 250.  The tree really needed a lot more than that.

This is Nicole's GS troop.  I don't know if all the girls were there.  I thought there was only 50 something kids in her troop.  They said that there are 68 kids in total.  I am so glad that my friend came with me to keep an eye on Michael.  He likes to run off.  He has done it to me many times.  Last night was no exception.

This troop is run very much like a boy scout troop.  They have all ages and levels in one troop.

These are just the Daisies.  Of course my daughter is hiding in the back.

Can you see Santa?

We got on the line so that Michael could sit on Santa's lap.  Nicole refused to sit with them.  I thought we had gotten past that stage but I guess not.

IPlay America trip

Daddy took the kids to iPlay America yesterday with the girl scouts.  I was very lucky to have a few hours to myself.  I did nothing but try and catch up on some sleep.  We had some friends that had gone when they had first opened and they said it was so expensive.  We got a great deal through Nicole's GS troop, I couldn't turn it down.  I figured it would be the only time they get to go.  The kids love the go karts.  Daddy's favorite was the laser tag.  Of course I really enjoyed my sleep.

Early Mornings

I'm back to working the early morning shift again.  I just comfy and started sleeping in until 5  now they changed my schedule around again for the holidays.  Today I went in at 3am. Its now 3pm and I'm ready to crash.  I still have to get everything set up for tomorrow morning. Make the kids lunch and stuff.  Maybe I could take a nap??  Not yet!  Ed says we have to give the dog a bath.  Yippee

Cub Scouts visit Marlboro Fire House

 We got to follow Michael's cub scouts to tour the Marlboro Fire House today.  The kids had a blast.  They loved climbing in the trucks and getting to touch everything, well except the vintage truck.

 

Then they finished the trip with some pizza.

Helping the Girls Scouts make Ornaments for our towns Christmas tree

Just having some fun!

 Our troop was asked to make the ornaments for out down town Christmas tree.  We came up with the idea of making them out of recycled materials.  They wanted 450 ornaments but we had only gotten 250 finished.  The tree lighting is Dec 1st and the girls were asked to be there to have their picture taken by the tree with Santa.

Guess what more crafts....  The Daisies got together to work on a badge.  I can tell you had had something to do with animals.  They made bird feeders and animal puppets.  They also talked about taking care of animals.

I can't believe how fast the kids are growing

Since the weather has changed I pulled out the kids fall/ winter clothes.  I really can't believe how much they have grown since last year.  I'm guessing I have to hit the store for some basics to get by.  I put a pair of Michaels pants on him this morning and they fit in the waist but were 2-3 inches to short.  I'm wondering if I should hold onto them and cut them into shorts for next year. 
Nicole on the other hand, just doesn't fit into anything anymore. 
Michael got his cub scout uniform yesterday and Nicole's is on order. 
Scouts are starting to fill in all our spare time.  Not that we had much to begin with.  They seem to be enjoying it. 
Nicole is star person for school next week.  I am suppose to go in and do a craft with the class on Monday.  Nicole chose to teach the class how to do, I can sing a rainbow in sign language.  No pressure right.  She learnt how to do the colors in sign language at her last Girl Scout meeting.  I was just sort of there not paying attention to the signs.  Thank you youtube for saving me once again!

1st snow of the year

I can't believe it is really snowing out.  I had planned to work in the garden today and to clean up around the house.  So what am I doing??  I'm stilling on my butt playing on the computer.  I should get up an start baking to warm up the house.  Great there goes the 45lbs I just lost....

Special Day

This is a special day indeed!  I don't like pictures of myself and I very rarely post any.  But I just wanted to share a picture of Ed and I that our friend Kristin took of us at Steve and Joyce's Wedding.  I am learning to let go of the camera and not hide behind it.  What prompted this change?  It would have to be my daughter and her insistence that I did not go places with them because I am not in the pictures.  If you ask her, I was not around for several YEARS while we worked on our house.  Apparently I was shoppping.  All because I was not in any pictures.

Cub Scouts Nature Hike and Craft

The scouts got together to for a nature hike.  Had some snacks.  Made some crafts. Yep that's about it.

 

 

 

a stroll on the beach

We were the 1st ones up the next morning and decided to take a stroll on the beach before breakfast.  It was so nice and quiet.  We collected a couple of shells to bring home to the kids.  It doesn't matter that we have a huge bag at home already.  Nicole loves her shells.

Hey look there is even a picture of me.  I think it may be time to invest in a new coat.  That thing is is like four sizes to big for me now.

Steve and Joyce's Wedding

I have to say this was one of the best weddings I have ever been to.  I love that Steve's kids where the best man and maid of honor and Joyce's best friend was the minister from the Universal Life Church of Modesto California.  Where I also happen to be a minister.  I've just never ordered the paperwork to do anything with it.  It was small and perfect.  My kids would have loved it.  To bad they didn't get to go.  Since it was also our anniversary weekend we decided to have a little adult time. 

Ed had a ball.  Who knew he liked to dance?  He usually doesn't but he was on the dance floor/deck the whole time.  I tried to upload some more of the pictures but this darn computer won't let me.

regret

Well, today my oldest brother passed away at the age of 56.  We didn't get along very well the last couple of years.  In fact I think we only spoke a few times to each other in the last 10/15 years. 
This past summer I had taken our mother over to his house.  I had even gave him a hug and told him that I love him.  I feel very guilty that I didn't do more or make an effort to fix our relationship.  Things would never have been perfect, but he was still my brother. 

Early morning wake up

I woke up this morning to the house shaking.  Since I'm really not a earlier morning person I stayed in bed trying to figure out what the hell was going on.  As I wake up a little more, I notice a banging noise and then the house shakes.  I still couldn't figure what was going on so I got up to investigate.   It took me a few minute to comprehend what was going on.  Five in the morning Brody our Great Dane is pouncing on his new toy he got last night.  Pouncing, you know like a cat.
