Building a doll bed

OK, OK, I got a call from sister in law telling I have to up date my blog. It's two in the morning and I'm already up for the day so I figured I better get to it. This is another one of those post I started but was pulled away by one of my kids. Probably the big one. If you know what I mean.

One of the things I love about my husband is.... even thou he is in the middle of working on two major construction jobs he will still stop and take some time for the kids.

Cole had been following him for several hour with a piece of scrap wood. She just kept dragging it from room to room behind him. This was after she nailed several pieces of molding in the middle of the floor. So anyway she pulls the piece up to him and says "Daaaaaddyyyyyyy" You know in that way only a little girl can do, with a little eye batting thrown in there. Oh, he was a goner. "Daaaaddyyyyyyy, can we build something?" taking measurements

A nice little doll bed made from just scraps of lumber and left over paint mixed together. I know he had planned to make a cradle together with Cole, but for a quick spur on the moment project I think it came out great.

Atlantic City

Ed had a conference in AC. I talked him into going. It was just for one night and the kids had their first overnighter at Aunt Nancy and Uncle Ray's. I'm sure it helped that it's like our second home. What I was not expecting to walk in the next day and they acted like we hadn't even been gone.

Happy Birthday to me

I'm not going to tell you how old I am, you will just have to guess! We are still working on our house. Always working on our house! I just stopped to take a break from painting shelves. The kids bedroom is somewhat finished. We still have to decide on what trim we are going to be using. We put the old carpet back down for the time being. We are going to put the new hardwood floor down all at once. It has so be in before summer. My mom is coming out to check up on... I mean to see us(really just the kids).

I'm back to washing dishes in the shower for awhile I was hoping that my birthday present from Ed would be a working kitchen sink. Ah maybe for mothers day then.

I bought myself some plants for the front yard. We really need some help out there. I've been waiting and hoping to run into Ahmed Hassan from DIY yard crashers. I am always at the home improvement stores. Ahmed where are you? Now look at this you would have thought my neighbors would have called Desperate Landscape crew already.

Cole doesn't like the happy birthday day song. She covers her ears anytime we sing it. She wanted us to sing twinkle twinkle little star. So of course we sung that too.

We spent the first night in our house last night in about a month. I'm sure Aunt Nancy and Uncle Ray are very happy to have us out of their hair for awhile. Oh, wait we'll be back there again we have to finish building their addition. Ah, poor guys just can't get rid of us.

Yay, all our sheet rock is up! It has been so long since I've had sheet rock on the walls. I'm so excited. We have been working like crazy. Most of the house had the first coat of spackle already. Another week and we should be painting. Love it!!!

I do like green eggs. - I had this photo sittinng as a draft waiting to post for a few days now. I was joking around and said we should have green eggs and ham since it was Dr Suess's birthday. Aunt Nancys makes some awesome eggs(once you get past the color)
