We found ourselves with nothing on our schedule today so we headed to the beach to do some metal detecting. Michael pack a lunch for us. I should have looked in the bag before we left. I saw him grabbing water and juice but for food he packed Twizzlers and Cheetos.
We didn't find any treasures but the kids had fun. Well, Nicole was upset that she couldn't go in the water. The water was really cold but apparently that doesn't bother her.

Fouth of July 2012
We headed to Jeanie and Mike's for the fourth of July. Bonnie was able to go with us and I am so happy she was able to get out into the sand.
Of course the kids had fun too.

a stroll on the beach
We were the 1st ones up the next morning and decided to take a stroll on the beach before breakfast. It was so nice and quiet. We collected a couple of shells to bring home to the kids. It doesn't matter that we have a huge bag at home already. Nicole loves her shells.
Hey look there is even a picture of me. I think it may be time to invest in a new coat. That thing is is like four sizes to big for me now.

Ocean Fun Day at Island Beach State Park
The kids had a great time at the park. They had a few tanks that the kids could touch some of the crabs and such. Of course they had more fun just digging in the sand and running from the waves.

fun at the boardwalk
We had three beautiful days in a row. The sun was shinning and it was around 90 out. Ed wanted us to work around the house. Yeah right! I figured we take advantage of the good weather before the rain comes in, so we headed for the boardwalk and some ice cream. Moe doesn't like the heat but I can usually persuade him to do anything with the promise of ice cream. The drive is only about 35-40 minutes on the off season to point pleasant. There are other beaches closer but I like that one. Apparently the first order of business was to take a nap. I could not wake these knuckleheads. We sat in the car for a half hour before I gave up decided to drive around figuring it would be cooler than just sitting in the car. An hour later they finally start to stir and I headed back to the boardwalk.
I decided to hit the aquarium first. Jenkinsons is small. It's just perfect for us. We have been there before a few time but I think they were to small to enjoy it. "WOW that fish is huge mommy!" -"WOW that fish is huge mommy!" -"WOW that fish is huge mommy!" That's all I heard.

Then we headed back out for ice cream some board walk games and some playing in the sand. Then it was back home so mommy could take a nap.

We made it in time to see them feed the seals.
