picnic in the park

The kids made me go on a picnic at Turkey Swamp yesterday.  Picnic basket, red and white checkered table cloth, matching dishes and everything.  They took a bite of their food and ran off to play.  I of course forgot my camera.  We took Brody for a walk around the lake and ran part of the way.  It still didn't tire out the kids.   Brody and I fell asleep as soon as we got home. 
My kids that never get up on time for school were up at the butt crack of dawn this morning.

Michaels new haircut

Ed says I'm not allowed to use the electric hair trimmer on Michael again.  It was my first time really using them.  His head really isn't shaped for short hair.  I tried spiking it and this is all it would do.

First Day of Summer 2011

The kids are out of school.  Yesterday was their last day.  We celebrated summer vacation by making a bigger mess in the house.  After Michael dragged himself away from playing Mindcraft on the computer, the kids had a small water fight in the front yard while I played in the garden.  Michael squirted Aunt Ginny with his water gun and she gave him a bag of cookies.  Go figure!
We gave Brody a bath today. He really wasn't  dirty, but Nicole wants him to sleep in her bed tonight.  He is such a good dog.  He is getting easier to walk.  He has never been on a leash until we got him.   I took him to school to pick up the kids and everyone wanted to pet him.  He did really well and just loved the attention.
I wanted to head to the beach tomorrow but I think it's going to rain.    They say we are expecting thunderstorms.  Nicole wants to go on a picnic.  So I have to dig out picnic basket out of the attic.  She wants go when Daddy is off of work.  Since he works everyday, I guess we will have to sneak down to work and kidnap him for lunch.

Our June garden Beds

Front Bed # 1

 

 This bed has potatoes along the front.  Peppers through out and the empty squares have just been planted with herbs.  I also have one eggplant in here.

                                                                 Middle Bed #2

This bed has a lot going on.  This one is mostly for tomatoes but we also have broccoli, peas, carrots, beets, and lettuce.  I think all my squares are filled on this bed now.

 

Back Bed #3

 This bed I did the three sisters planting.  There is sweet corn, beans squash and zucchini.  I also have three pumpkin plants on the end.  As well as cucumbers started along the very back of the bed.
