Well Duh

OK, I had a rather - well duh -moment yesterday. I love magazines. I have tons of magazines, I have been collecting. You know there is this great article I want to save in this one, and Oh that picture -it is the exact color I want for the walls in my kitchen. I used to rip them out and put them in a scrapbook. That only worked for the home decor type of pictures. Now I have recipes, photography books and gardening information. It really keeps adding up. So anyway yesterday I was photographing the kids artwork when it clicked. I don't hold on to all the kids work. Why should I hold on to my magazines? Yesterday I sat down with my camera and my stack of magazines and photographed all the things I was saving them for. Then I went to my computer and created a bunch of folders to put the pictures in. I now have all my info saved in their proper folders. It's so much easier to look in the craft folder for the craft I wanted to do with the kids than to search through the magazines. I would always forget which one it was anyway. So that was my well DUH moment.

Snow Day

IMG_2427, originally uploaded by patteykoch.

It snowed this morning. It looked so beautiful and so clean. To bad we had to clean the sidewalk. Now it just looks dirty. Click on the link and head over to flickr to see some more pictures. --That spot of snow smack dab in the middle of Coles head---I absolutely did NOT hit my daughter in the head with a snowball! I would never do something like that! :)

Before and Aft-HER

BEFORE & AFTER Meet- Her. Yep, that's her name. It was so cold out side I didn't want to do anything. So we sat on the couch and veged out. It took me about two hours to make. Cole stuffed it and Moe strung the star buttons onto the needle. I have a big brown "spot" that I wanted to put on her back, but I ran out of thread. I may just try this again with a nice pair of argyle socks. Next time I'll make sure to make the front legs the same size as the back, then maybe it will stand. The kids are currently walking Her right now. - They put a string on like a leash and are draging her around the kitchen island, yelling "Come on puppy."

I'm a freakin mommy

A few days ago I hurt my back. -Right after Ray hurt his- Right before Ed hurt his. Could it be a sign we are getting old? Anyway, I hurt my back and the kids would not stop climbing on me. In a heated moment just full of desperation, I yelled " I'm not a freakin jungle gym."
Cole with her little giggle just questioned "Mommy you not a jungle gym?" Like that's exactly what she thought I was!
Moe on the other hand, with his Uncle Ted laugh uttered "Your not a freakin jungle gym." " Your a freakin Mommy!"

Daddies little helper part 2785

The tile in the new bathroom... Cole is Eds little helper. She jumps right in and isn't afraid to get dirty. Every time we go into the new bathroom. Cole likes to point out the tile I broke. "Look mommy, daddy fix tile YOU broke." yeah, yeah yeah!

remembrance

I know I haven't really posted in a while but I wanted to take the time to say a little goodbye to Grandpa Vince. Grandpa Vince is Aunt Nancy's father and I just wanted to let Aunt Nancy and her family know that my thoughts and prayers are with them.
A few weeks ago, I was sitting on the floor painting the molding in his living room. Grandpa Vince did his little shuffle and sat down in a chair beside me and showed me a picture he had in his hand. It was a picture of him and Grandma Jane taken several years ago -before he had lost a lot of his weight. I pretended that it was the first time I saw it and not the fourth time that day. He sat back and examined at that photo, rubbing his thumb over it. "Ah," he sighed "That Jane, she's as beautiful today as the day I met her." He glanced up at me and said, "She's one amazing woman!"
When I think of Grandpa Vince, this is what I will always remember.

Thanks Carpal Tunnel

Today I am on my husbands sh*t list. He went out this morning and picked up the shower tile to match the tile we put down on the floor in the bathroom. So of course we have to open the boxes to check the tile out. Everything was going great until I put my hand on the tile. Of course I drop one right on the floor tile and cracked a corner off. Not the tile I dropped, but the one that is already down on the floor. So it looks like he'll have to pull that tile out and replace it. Not an easy job. It's a good thing he loves me or I may not have survived. Thanks Carpal Tunnel, Thanks a lot!
