YAY I'm a loser!

Seriously, I lose at everything. I went to a auction last week for the St Rose school. I went because I was invited to go with my sisters in laws and my mother in law. It was a girls night out and I will take them whenever I can. Other than that I should have stayed home and hid my money under the mattress, because I didn't win a thing. I used to go to bingo with a girlfriend- I never won! I still can't help playing the lottery once in a while, but I don't play anywhere near as much as I used to.

So why am I happy I'm a loser? I get to stay home with my kids for another year.

After a lot of pressure and some not so nice comments from family, I finally resigned myself to put the kids in preschool in September and go back to work. I have to admit the thought of making money was probably what did me in. So, I did my best and lost. They only had 45 openings for the school and there was 70 kids. They put all the names in a basket and pulled out the lucky kids that would go to school next year. Out of the 45 openings we were the 68/69th picked. So I'll say it again. YAY I'm a loser!

  1. Argh! Whoever pressures you to put the kids in school should just shut their traps, is what I say. I think homeschooling is awesome and as someone who spent most of her public school life waiting to get the hell out of the place (not because I didn't love learning, but because "socialization" can kiss my ass), I don't think there's any real need for formal schooling anyway, at least and especially for elementary school. Take another year, take three, do whatever you want!

  2. Well I am not even going to comment about people pressuring you, because I think Lara covered it. I will say that they are wrong for it though because you are mom and knows what is best for the kids. Other than that I will Say I will congratulations to you because getting to stay home with your kids makes you a winner not a loser!

  3. Adding ANOTHER job to your roster?BEWARE of the strain on everyone involved because you do wind up spreading yourself too thin. You can add another job when the kids are done with elementary(home)school. Let's face it - there is never enough money!

  4. I agree with all of the above.
;-) Yeah you!! Yeah for those beautiful children because while you 'lost", they surely just won the "jackpot"!
